Stephen is a Senior Research Fellow interested in evolutionary neurobiology. He is looking forward to helping ensure Biological Sciences remains a welcoming and supportive place to work and study, and is particularly interested in supporting early career researchers, student well-being and widening participation.

Corrie Sadler
Corrie is the Executive Administration Manager for Biological Sciences. Along with her administrative team, Corrie is committed to helping implement Athena SWAN driven initiatives and processes in the School.

Dave Lawson
Dave is a lecturer in the Biological Sciences department and co-chair for the EDI Committee. Dave is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for our staff and students. Dave is particularly interested in supporting the LGBTQ+ community and believes there are countless benefits to embracing diversity across all spectrums.

Sinead English
Sinead joined the School of Biological Sciences as a Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellow, working on the role of mothers in evolution. She is keen to hear from, and represent the views of, those who have concerns about caring responsibilities, flexible working, returning from leave, as well as settling into new jobs or roles within the School.

Filipe Machado Franca
Filipe is a lecturer interested in tropical ecology, conservation policy, and science communication. Filipe is neurodiverse, Latin American and a first-generation PhD and academic committed to creating an academic environment that embraces and includes all forms of diversity. He is particularly interested in tackling the under-representation of minority groups in academia and celebrating their contributions to science.

Pernille Sorensen
Pernille is a first year PhD student working on animal behaviour and acoustic communication. She decided to become a member of the committee due to her interest in promoting diversity and equality within academia. She is equally interested in ways to improve the work/personal life balance among all members of the school to ensure professional and personal well-being.

Dan Watts
Dan is the School Administrator for Biological Sciences and has a strong passion for equality, diversity across all platforms. The opportunity to work closely with EDI is something Dan is committed to, and will be helping to run the Twitter account to help spread the word.

Sabrina Westall
Sabrina is a Senior Teaching Lab Technician. She is passionate in promoting inclusiveness and diversity as well as tackling inequality within Biological Sciences. Having done her degree as an international student in the UK, she wishes to use her experience to encourage all students and staff to celebrate our differences and to make the school as supportive as one can be for everyone.

Christopher Cammies
Chris is a Teaching Associate, but has previously worked in secondary schools and in widening participation endeavours for the university. Having seen a disparity in the opportunities and circumstances for young people of different ethnicity, social classes and genders at the school level, Chris has sought to change this by engaging in targeted outreach and work experience programmes. He believes in equality at all levels and is a committed advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion for all individuals regardless of their race, gender, age, sexuality or career status.
