Student Teaching Awards
The Student Teaching Awards recognise and celebrate individual staff and teams (both academic and professional services) who have make an outstanding contribution to teaching, the provision of support for students' learning, and/or enhance the student learning experience.
Award categories and criteria
Students are invited to nominate in a range of individual award categories. We strongly advise reading further details about each award's criteria by clicking on the links below and consider the eligibility requirements before placing nominations. The 2026 awards include:
- Championing Student Voices AwardAn award for individuals or teams who champion student academic voices.
- Helping Hand AwardAn award for individuals in professional services or technical team. Non-teaching staff only e.g. Careers Service or Student Health Service.
- Helping Hands Team AwardAn award for professional services or technical teams – non-teaching staff teams only e.g. Careers Service or Student Health Service.
- Inspiring and Engaging Teaching AwardAn award for individual academics, lab technician, or postgraduate research students who teach.
- Inspirational PhD Supervisor AwardAn award for individual academics who provide postgraduate research supervisors.
- Personal Tutor of the Year AwardAn award for individual academics who provides personal tutoring.
- Supportive Dissertation Supervisor AwardAn award for individual academics who provide dissertation support to undergraduate or postgraduate taught students.
