Come and discover how books were printed by hand in the Renaissance.
In this full-day interactive workshop, participants will be introduced to some aspects of historic book design and learn to set type and print using the hand presses at Bristol Common Press(Opens in new window).
No prior knowledge of typesetting or printing is required and all materials will be provided, including aprons. Please wear sensible shoes for working comfortably and safely in the print shop. There will be a break for lunch but food is not provided: there are cafes nearby or bring your own.
This is a workshop for adults and offers a rare opportunity to connect with the past through creative, tactile learning. Places are limited, book early to avoid missing out!
