Lim Kang Ning: Oasis (world premiere)

Igor Stravinsky: Symphony in Three Movements

Camille Saint-Saëns: Symphony No.3, "Organ"

Singaporean composer Lim Kang Ning writes of her new work: "Oasis had a curious genesis. It started with an idea of light; then a desert, and then an oasis." We are honoured to give the first performance. Stravinsky's Symphony in Three Movements, premiered in 1946, goes to a darker place and a different kind of light, with hints of war and of New York jazz. Our concert closes with Saint-Saëns' beloved "Organ" Symphony from 1886, a work as masterful as it is joyous.
