The Liberation of France: 80 years of objets de mémoire (Exhibition and Discussion)

Held with the support of Mission Libération, the French Embassy, AUPHF+ and the University of Bristol.
You are invited to join us for this special event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of France through an exploration of some of the artefacts held in the University of Bristol’s special collections. These include the official review of the Free French in London La France Libre, and the review Nos Amis les Anglais as well as other materials and objects relating to preparations for D-Day and the Liberation itself, many of the latter drawn from the University’s Theatre Collection. 
Programme 
11am: Exhibition opens for unguided tours

2-2.45pm: Guided visits of the exhibition
2.45pm: Tea and coffee 
3.15-5.45pm: 80 Years of objets de mémoire featuring discussions and contributions from Professor Hanna Diamond (Cardiff University), Dr Charlotte Faucher (University of Bristol), Professor Martin Hurcombe (University of Bristol), Professor Debra Kelly (University of Westminster, Emeritus), Dr Federico Testa (University of Bristol), followed by Q&A.
