The US Foundation supports students to come to the University of Bristol through life-changing scholarship programs. Together with visionary philanthropic partners, we can provide more students with an invaluable life-changing university experience. This will directly shape the education and careers of our scholars, and echo beyond Bristol as students go on to create change in all corners of the world.  

US Study Abroad Scholarship  

Studying abroad is a unique and transformational learning experience, and students who have done so tend to have a higher GPA than peers who stayed in their own country, demonstrate greater intercultural learning, understand the complexity of global issues, and are better able to work with people from other countries.* By increasing our number of study abroad students at Bristol, we also build on the University’s international reputation and strengthen our place on the global stage. Futures Scholarship 

The Futures Scholarship offers comprehensive financial, pastoral and career support to enable talented students to accept their place at Bristol and thrive. The scholarship helps to reduce the financial burden associated with pursuing higher education and increase career opportunities for students from low-income backgrounds. The US Foundation has a long tradition of supporting world-class research at Bristol and accelerating research that is helping to tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges. 

Bristol’s research specialisms, many of which are philanthropically supported by donors in the US, include cancer research, cardiovascular disease, neuroscience, antimicrobial resistance, infectious diseases and population health.
