The University participates in a number of sector wide and internal surveys which enable the University to see what is going well and what could be improved right across the student experience; detailed information can be found by following the links below.

The NSS results data are one of the factors that are used in league tables; for more information on how these data are used and what other factors contribute to league tables see the Strategic Planning and Projects webpages.

The National Student Survey (NSS) is an annual survey of all final year undergraduate students. It runs across all publicly funded higher education institutions in England, Wales, Northern Ireland & some HEIs in Scotland.  Results are published and used in league tables.

The Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) is a UK-wide biennial survey that collects the views of current postgraduate researchers in order to target, design and evaluate work to enhance the learning experiences of students on research programmes.

PGT NSS Style Pilot

The Postgraduate National Student Survey is open to all students who are actively studying for a PGT course and include full-time, part-time and distance learning courses and any year of study.  The survey is in it's pilot stage, with the view to run annually alongside the NSS.
