Veterinary Pathology

Students on a group visit

The Veterinary Pathology Unit is part of the School of Veterinary Sciences.  The unit is situated in the Churchill Building at Langford House, 15 miles from Bristol, in the south-west of England.  The members of staff teach Pathology and Immunology to veterinary undergraduate students.  Immunology is taught in the third year and Pathology is taught in years three and four.

The Veterinary Pathology unit provides histopathological services for research and teaching.  Our pathologists also provide diagnostic histopathology expertise for Langford Veterinary Services (LVS).  The well-equipped histology laboratory (which is shared between LVS and the university) also has facilities for histochemistry and immunohistochemistry and participates in the histopathology quality assessment scheme run by AHVLA. A post-mortem room is shared with the staff of the Animal Health Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA) at Langford.
