Built on strong academic foundations and informed by leading research and current industry developments, our accounting and finance degrees combine both disciplines to give you a broad understanding of today’s global financial landscape. You will explore the principles of financial reporting and how financial information shapes investment decisions, corporate strategy, and global capital markets.
You will develop the analytical, technical, and professional skills needed to interpret complex financial information, solve business challenges and succeed in a rapidly evolving global environment. From sustainability and corporate accountability to fintech and technological innovation, you will examine the issues shaping the future of accounting and finance.
Taught by leading academics with industry expertise, our programmes combine rigour with practical application. Alongside core accounting and finance topics, you will build knowledge of economics, quantitative analysis, and business decision-making. Optional units allow you to tailor your degree to your interests, whether by specialising in accounting or finance or exploring areas such as data analytics, project management, strategy and sustainability.
Depending on your course and unit choices, you may also gain hands-on experience using financial databases, analytical tools, and industry-standard platforms used across the global financial services sector.
Many of our courses are accredited by professional accountancy bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
Depending on your programme, you may be able eligible for exemptions from selected professional examinations, helping you to progress more quickly towards Chartered Accountant status.
Our industry-relevant teaching has also been recognised by CIMA through its Academic Partner Excellence Award for achieving the third-highest overall global CIMA examination pass (Global Silver - pass rate excellence - overall CIMA exams).
I feel like everyone wants you to succeed and do really well, and I was surprised how much time the lecturers give; they're so willing to spend their office hours talking to you and advising you.
