Open days and afternoons
Our next Postgraduate open day is on Wednesday 20 November from 1 pm to 5.30 pm. Book your place today and join us to find out more about postgraduate life at Bristol.
The best way to find out what postgraduate study at Bristol is really like, is by attending our open day.
On the day, you'll get the chance to speak to current staff and students about our postgraduate taught and postgraduate research programmes, see our fantastic facilities and hear about our outstanding range of student support. Please book your place to attend.
We want to help facilitate your travel to our Open Day, as we recognise that this is an investment in your future. We’ve therefore arranged some great discounts for you with Great West Rail, First Bus and local hotels.
Parking around the campus is limited and traffic in Bristol can be slow. We would encourage the use of public transport, but if you do need to drive, the closest multi-storey car parks are Trenchard Street or West End. Bristol also has a park and ride scheme, which you can take advantage of if you’d like to park outside of the city centre.
If you have any access requirements that you didn’t disclose when you booked, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know how we may be able to support you during your visit.
We’ve organised some great discounts for our visitors with Great Western Railway, which you can find out more about here. The main train station in Bristol is Temple Meads. From here, there are regular buses running to and from the campus (First Bus services 8 and 9).
On the day, we’ll be at Temple Meads station offering free bus travel to the campus for anyone attending the event – just look out for one of our team in a University of Bristol jacket when you exit the station and let them know you’re heading to the Postgraduate Open Day.
Bristol bus and coach station is only a 10 - 15 minute walk from Wills Memorial Building, or you can pick up a number 8 or 9 from Rupert Street (please note the Rupert Street bus stop will not be staffed so we are unable to offer free bus travel from this location).
Staying in Bristol
If you wish to stay overnight before or after the event, there are plenty of places to stay nearby, Visit Bristol has lots of useful information and we’ve arranged some hotel discounts for our attendees, which you can learn more about here.
See our Maps and Travel page for more information.
Our postgraduate blog is written by current staff and students and offers a great insight into all aspects of postgraduate life at Bristol.
From accounts of managing work alongside part-time study, to a glimpse of the support we offer throughout your research, it's a great way to get an inside look at what it's like to study here.
