Winkworth House

This purpose built accommodation is 15 years old, and is designed as 5 separate blocks.  Each block is spread over 4 floors with a flat with a private entrance on each floor. 127 students are accommodated in flats of 7 or 4 and there are 2 studio flats. All rooms have an en-suite shower and toilet facility, called a ‘pod’.  All flats have a large shared kitchen/dining room with plenty of space.

Despite the city centre location, the area is quiet.  To the rear there is a small residential area of Brandon Hill and to the front and side are council offices, city library and the cathedral.  2 minutes walk away is Park Street –very popular for clothes/shoe shopping, plus a selection of bars, restaurants, and book shops.  At the top of the hill you will find the University.

You are also within walking distance of the harbourside area with an array of cafes, cinemas, bars, and art and photographic exhibitions and Broadmead for city centre shopping.

There is a regular bus service going to the train station nearby.
