'Leading across boundaries' conference 2020

This year’s conference will focus on the theme of ‘Leading across boundaries’. We all experience boundaries. Whether they are personal or cultural, physical or virtual, in the workplace or in wider society, we need to navigate boundaries on a daily basis. As leaders, we must recognise the impact these boundaries have on our teams and our community, and realise the potential for growth and innovation that lies in collaborating across boundaries. Only when we deconstruct these boundaries can we overcome our collective challenges and transform what we can achieve as individuals, teams and as a world-leading university.

Conference attendees can expect to:

  • explore the various boundaries we face as leaders – between specialisms, identities, geographies, demographics, experiences, agendas and more
  • challenge perceived and actual boundaries with a focus on practical actions for leadership
  • hear about academic and personal perspectives on navigating and reframing boundaries
  • learn from positive examples and approaches to leading across boundaries
  • reconnect with programme peers, make new contacts and identify opportunities for collaboration
  • refresh skills and take part in ongoing leadership and management development
