The University has its own unique internal coaching service, offering one to one development support for staff.

Please note that during coronavirus, all booked appointments will continue as planned via Skype or phone. Your coach will be in touch with you to arrange this.

Coaching is a powerful tool that uses one-to-one discussions to help an individual learn and to develop their self-awareness, skills, or knowledge. Coaching is usually for a short defined period of time and a coach may or may not have experience in the same area as the client.

The client will be supported by the coach/mentor to develop a greater awareness of their strengths and areas for development, and through a process of careful listening, questioning and feedback, the client will be helped to find their own solutions.

The University of Bristol offers coaching in three areas:
