The CREATE scheme provides a framework for academic and professional services staff who are involved in teaching and supporting student learning to gain recognition across the breadth of their roles and at different stages of their careers. The scheme will be accredited by the Higher Education Academy against the UKPSF across all four descriptor levels. The scheme is being launched in autumn 2014 and there will be briefing sessions during September 2014 about what the scheme entails and how to engage with it.
All new and current academic staff who need to complete the CREATE scheme will be contacted by us with further information regarding the briefing sessions in the coming months.
All professional services staff and PGRs wishing to find out more about the CREATE scheme are encouraged to visit these pages as we will update them about how the scheme can support you gaining development and recognition for your academic and professional practice.
Please note the previous Postgraduate Certificate in TLHE programme has now closed and the CREATE scheme has replaced this programme.
The option to apply directly to the HEA for recognition has now closed unless you have already been in contact with Academic Staff Development about this route.
Please note that from August 1 2014 direct applications to the HEA will still require academic staff to engage and successfully complete the CREATE scheme if they are required to complete a ‘teaching and learning qualification’ as part of their appointment.
The Starting to Teach 1-day sessions are designed for postgraduates who have teaching/lab demonstrating responsibilities in 2014/15. This provision is offered by Academic Staff Development.
