Team News

Harry Cornish

Harry joined the team in April as Staff Development Adviser (Maternity Cover) supporting the CREATE (Cultivating Research and Teaching Excellence) CPD scheme. The scheme results in a learning and teaching qualification and develops academic practice across teaching, research/scholarship and leadership. Harry’s role is to provide advice and guidance to University staff regarding the scheme and to ensure the processes and systems that support the scheme run smoothly and efficiently. Harry joins us with a wealth of HR and project management experience and is relocating from London to join us. We are excited to have him join the team and look forward to working with him.

Louise Fisher

Louise joined the team in March as the new Staff Development Officer focusing on learning and teaching. Her role involves delivering  Starting to Teach for PGRs and Research Staff and supporting elements of  CREATE. She comes to us with a background of further and higher education teaching practice and experience of staff development, with a particular focus on using technology in teaching. We would like to welcome Louise to the team and we are sure we will benefit from her skills and experience.

Bethan Turner and Helena Hoyle

Regretfully we have to announce the departure of two members of our team. Bethan Turner, who was our Staff Development Adviser (Maternity Cover) supporting CREATE has secured herself a longer-term appointment as a Staff Development Adviser in the Professional Services Leadership and Management development team and Helena Hoyle, who was our Administrative Assistant working on the GW4 Developing People strand has secured a promotion in Social and Community Medicine as Executive Assistant to Professor Alastair Hay. We are delighted for them both as their new appointments represent positive steps for each of them. We have very much enjoyed having them both as part of the team, so we will be very sad to see them go. We wish them both every success in their new roles.
