Staff Development Objectives

Staff Development seeks to achieve its Mission and Vision by meeting the following broad, interrelated objectives:

  • To ensure University ambitions, outlined in the Education, Research and Enterprise Strategies drive all we do
  • To integrate development into the University People Strategy
  • To maintain a high level of organisational, sector and professional  knowledge 
  • To deliver a proactive yet flexible service that adds value to the organisation
  • To recognise diversity through rigorous and continuous communication and consultation 
  • To deliver and facilitate innovative development through consultancy, coaching, development ‘methods’ and central workshop provision
  • To facilitate development ‘conversations’ throughout the organisation
  • To evaluate and report on our actions and objectives as part of University planning
  • To maintain the very highest levels of service in all that we do
