About FAB Kids

We aim to share the findings of our research and the wider educational disciplines with local children. FAB Kids builds on the exciting research projects we are involved in and incorporates the skills and knowledge of academia and research within the Centre for Exercise, Nutrition and Health Sciences.

The interactive workshop is aimed at Year 5 and 6 children. We extol the virtues of making healthy lifestyle choices. The workshop is closely aligned with the National Curriculum of Science and Physical Education, and therefore has a strong and relevant educational underpinning.

We use innovative technology and real-time data, hands-on experiments, and creative tasks to deliver the workshops. The workshop builds awareness of the importance of healthy lifestyle choices for children, and encourages them to think critically about their everyday choices.

FAB Kids has been delivered to over 1200 children across the South West. We have received exceptional feedback from children and school staff!

Our staff

FAB Kids has been designed by staff in the Centre for Exercise, Nutrition and Health Sciences at the University of Bristol.

All of our staff are committed to, and actively involved in researching, physical activity, nutrition, and healthy lifestyles.

We are keen to build on the skills of the University's excellent students, and as such we have recruited postgraduate students to help us deliver the workshops in schools.
