Poo patrol: a toolkit for evidence-based community action to prevent dog fouling

We aim to develop a toolkit to enable communities to devise, implement and evaluate their own anti-dog-fouling measures. This will enable more effective protection of children from zoonotic disease and has important implications for the unequal impacts on children's outdoor play where fouling is a particular problem and the associated impacts on children’s health- particularly in poorer neighbourhoods. The project will provide proof of concept for co-production in the prevention of dog fouling and associated public health threats. We intend to build on this towards further, larger projects.
