We are excited to be delivering our first C-Change training programme in partnership with Interface Enterprises. Katie Riches and Dr. Liz Hadcroft will spend two days with social workers from Gloucestershire County Council to support them to develop a thorough understanding of the C-Change approach and begin to apply it in daily practice.

Training the Trainers, London
Dr. Dendy Platt and Katie Riches from the University of Bristol were joined by 17 independent trainers linked to Interface Enterprises Ltd. The day was spent sharing the knowledge gained from the training sessions held during the pilot project and discussing further developments for the C-Change training. A lively and enthusiastic day!

Announcement of Training Partnership
We are delighted to announce that the University of Bristol has partnered with Interface Enterprises to deliver national training to support the embedding of the C-Change approach to assessing parental capacity to change. Wendy Weal, Managing Director, of Interface Enterprises says ‘We are delighted to be working with The University of Bristol on the C-Change approach. Pilot Authorities, Manager's Follow-Up Day
The School of Policy Studies, UoB hosted Children's Social Care managers and legal representatives from the 3 Local Authorities involved in the pilot project to develop the C-Change approach. The purpose of the day was to provide a recap of the key principles of C-Change, to allow managers the opportunity to practice using the two core strands of assessing barriers and facilitators of change and gathering evidence of actual change and to share ideas to embed the C-Change approach within the authorities.

Theories of Behaviour Change: Applications for Social Work with Children and Families
A seminar jointly hosted by University of Bristol, UCL Public Policy and UCL Centre for Behaviour Change discussed how behaviour change theory can be integrated into research, practice and policy activities to ensure that they are more evidence-based. The seminar facilitated consultation between experts about the application of behavior change theory within the field of Social Work e.g. how best to support practitioners to deliver and evaluate evidence-based interventions and, how policy can best support development of a system guided by behaviour change theory, its principles and its practice.

The University of Bristol has made a grant to the C-Change project through the ESRC Impact Acceleration Account. The aims of the work during the year will be to set up an arrangement to provide training for practitioners in the C-Change approach and to increase awareness of the C-Change approach among the Social Care workforce.
