Our mission is to develop a UK research centre of world-leading excellence crossing clinical and academic boundaries for real patient benefit, to prevent burns and improve the outlook of children with burn injuries.

About the centre

The Centre is funded by UK charity The Healing Foundation for five years from 2012, with additional support from the Welsh Assembly National Institute for Social Care and Health Research (NISCHR) and VTCT.

The Children’s Burns Research Centre is a consortium led by the University of Bristol in partnership with:

  • Cardiff University
  • University of Bath
  • North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT)
  • University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust (UHBristol).

Research Network Showcase

Registration now open. On 1 July 2016 the Children's Burns Research Network are holding a one day conference showcasing the latest research in paediatric burn care with a focus on continuing collaborations.
