Start Something: Launchpad

Launchpad is a 3.5 day programme which will support you in developing the necessary skills to turn an idea into a viable business. You will work on a proposal for your business, alongside other like-minded individuals and mentors.

Each day will be themed around a core principle of the development of a business idea. Other than day one, the sessions will run 8:30 am–8 pm with a mixture of seminars and practical mentored workshops led by our experienced entrepreneurs and professional experts.

Throughout the programme each team will develop a plan based on their business proposition and on the final day they will pitch to a panel for feedback.

Programme

The programme will provide introductory sessions on a range of topics, including:

  • the commercialisation process
  • finding your customers and market
  • creating competitive advantage

There will be ample opportunity for you to network with local entrepreneurs, investors and experts over the course of the programme as part of our evening sessions.

The biggest surprise was how immensely open and helpful people in the start-up community are. Not just the teachers and people who provide advice and support, but young entrepreneurs themselves. It is a very special community that goes very much against the stereotype of a business person or corporate culture.
