OPEN (Out of Hours Prescribing: Enhancing CommunicatioN) is a research study exploring and improving communication between health practitioners and patients in Out-of-Hours consultations. We are video-recording consultations so we can understand motre about how patients and clinicians discuss symptoms and any treatment(s) or medical advice. We are also asking patients and healthcare practitioners to fill out a survey about the consultation and what happened next after the visit.

We will use the results of this study to design new communication training for the treatment of patients with common medical problems. This will benefit patients across the UK in the future.
