Research areas

Our research focuses on improving the thermal management, electrical performance and reliability of novel devices, circuits and packaging. We work across a range of research areas spanning devices, materials and techniques, and have contributed to success of major projects such as the European Space Agency's Biomass Mission.

European Space Agency Biomass Mission

We played a key role in the qualification of gallium nitride (GaN) HEMTs for the European Space Agency's Biomass Mission satellite, designed to monitor climate change, using Raman Thermography to determine the channel temperature in the GaN HEMTs used. Read the scientific paper here.
