We are delighted to announce two guest lectures on design and Penguin, as part of the '75 Years of Penguin Books' conference proceedings. These will take place in one session on the first day of the conference, Tuesday 29 June, from 5.15pm to 6.30pm, and will be followed by a conference drinks reception.
Phil Baines is a freelance graphic designer and Professor of Typography at Central Saint Martins in London. He is author of Penguin by Design (2005) and Puffin by Design (2010).
James Pardey is a freelance researcher and web designer, and has written a series of articles on the art of Penguin Science Fiction for The Penguin Collector journal. He also edits the Art of Penguin Science Fiction and Fontana Modern Masters websites.
Places are available for those who have not registered for the full conference, at £5 each, £3 concessions. Places may be paid for on the evening itself, at the entrance to the Victoria Rooms.
