Biography

Victoria Mason started her PhD studies in October 2010, and is carrying out research into bereavement support for adults with learning disabilities in England. She aims to explore how support workers can develop skills to support people with learning disabilities who have suffered a bereavement.

At the Norah Fry Research Centre

In addition to studying for her PhD Victoria supports the work of Julian Goodwin, the centre’s information officer, who produces the publication Plain Facts.  Victoria also works with the Voice Group, a group of experienced researchers with learning difficulties who meet once a month to discuss issues, ideas and proposals for the centre.

Research interests

    • Carers’ voices in service provision and development

    • Relationships between those who provide services and those who receive them.
