Area Senior Educational Psychologist:
- Area level - responsible for management, supervision and support of Educational Psychologists and Administrative staff. Day to day organisation of the work of the team. Responsibility for providing an Educational Psychology Service to a group of schools.
- Service level - Participation in Service Management Group, regular attendance at LA SEN decision making panels.
- Organisation and regular review of whole Service time allocation framework.
- Development and delivery of Induction Package for new EPs.
- Responsibility for Inclusion work, including participation in developing Bristol's Inclusive Education Policy alongside the PEP.
Assistant Principal Educational Psychologist:
- Working with PEP and other APEPs in strategic decision making for the Service including Service Development Plans, Service evaluation on an annual basis, deployment of EP time, representing the Children's Services of the Education Department in the Local Authorities Equalities work.
- Development of a Service Handbook for Administrative Staff and procedures.
- Developing pilot work and a proposal for inclusion work related to supporting independent travel for young people with additional needs. This was then adopted by the LA as a 2 year project to which I am seconded. From Sept 08 a permanent team will be established to continue this work. My particular role during the project has been to work with SEN and Social Care colleagues to establish new procedures and range of support and training for children and young people with regard to support with travel, leading, wherever possible, to independence. From September 08 I will continue to be seconded to work with a project team to further devolve SEN funding to education settings for additional needs and to set up a locality system for agreeing statutory assessments and provision.
Secondment to Bristol University Professional Training for EPs: Professional Tutor on Masters course since 1998, initially 0.3 FTE, now 0.5 FTE Professional Tutor of DEd Psych.
- Development of Curriculum for Doctoral Programme to obtain BPS recognition of course.
- Responsibility for Organisation of and shared teaching on: Local Authority and School Systems, Dimensions of Social and Emotional Development and Inclusion Units.
- Organisation of Placement 1 in an educational setting; co-ordination of Timetabling Years 1-3; placement visits; personal tutor; work as required with field supervisors and advisory panels; participation in continuous evaluation and development of course.
