A host of attractions include a fun dog show run by the Small Animal Practice, a ‘have a go’ dog rally run by Little Orchard Dog Training Academy and behind the scenes tours of the Small Animal Practice and the Equine Centre.
The Equine Centre will host a display by Avon Owls, as well as bird of prey talks, pony rides and equine physiotherapy demonstrations.
A marquee will house stallholders representing a range of local businesses, charities and community groups. A food and drink area will enable visitors to sample well-loved local brands including cider and beer from Butcombe Brewery, wine from Aldwick Court Farm and ice cream from Chew Moo's.
Children of all ages will be well catered for with a range of attractions including inflatables, face painting and entertainer: Mr Brown’s Pig. Children are encouraged to bring their broken soft toys to the ‘Teddy Bear Surgery’ to be mended by our registered veterinary nurses and clinicians.
Richard Hammond, Chief Executive of Langford Vets and Head of the University of Bristol’s Vet School, said: “We welcomed around 2,000 visitors through our doors at our last Open Day in 2013 and we hope to see even more this year.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to show off our state-of-the-art facilities and team of specialists, while also giving existing clients access to areas of our businesses they may not have seen before. If you’ve ever wondered what we’re all about then I encourage you to come along. Have fun!”
Langford Vets Open Day will take place on Sunday 18 September from 10 am to 4 pm at Langford Vets, Langford, Bristol BS40 5DU.
Adult tickets cost £5, while children aged 16 and under are free. Dogs are welcome. All profits will go towards funding specialist equipment for teaching the next generation of vets.
