The symposium series was initiated in 2007 by the California NanoSystems Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles and the Center for Nanobio Integration at the University of Tokyo. It has since grown to become an international event involving scientists from the foremost research institutions in Asia, North America, and Europe. Presentations have focused on topics of major concern to scientists in nanobio/nanomedical fields. These have included targeted drug delivery, imaging, diagnostic tools, medical devices, and the application of nanotechnology to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
The Symposium will take place on 6-7 November, and the session topics are: Nano Imaging, Manipulation and Diagnostics; Nanoparticles and Nanotherapies; Nanomaterials in Health and Medicine (including Nanotoxicology); and Synthetic Biology.
The event is expected to act as an interdisciplinary catalyst for initiating research among the Nanoscience, Medicine and Life Sciences communities at Bristol.
