Undergraduate admissions 2012

Press release issued: 16 August 2012

The University of Bristol received around 33,817 applications for the 4,405 undergraduate places available across the full range of subjects from this October.

Places at Bristol remain among the most sought after in the UK due to its international reputation for the high quality of its teaching and research.

Bristol was able to offer an increased number of places following the Government's decision to lift the cap on the number of places universities can offer to students who achieve A-level grades of AAB and above.

Dr Roseanna Cross, Head of Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions at the University, said: "We are delighted that so many candidates achieved the high grades required for admission to Bristol and also that we were able to increase the number of places available from this year, enabling even more people who have achieved top A-level grades to study at Bristol. We look forward to welcoming all our students in October."

The University's results hotline telephone number is +44 (0)117 3317476. It will be open from 8.30am on 16 August.

More information regarding UCAS confirmation can be found on the University's website at www.bristol.ac.uk/results.  If any late vacancies are available, then this information will be posted on the website.
