The three top teams gaining ‘Platinum awards’ were:
- Procurement, Space and Asset Management and Estates Administration
- Hospitality
- The Dorothy Hodgkin Building
The overall winner prize went to Procurement, Space and Asset Management and Estates Administration in recognition of gaining over 680 points.
Other awards went to five teams for achieving Gold, four teams for Silver, 11 for the new Bronze Plus award, two for Bronze and three for ‘Working Towards’ Green Impact.
Special Awards recognised additional actions taken by teams, who received a food hamper from the student-run BUST Food Co-op. These actions included establishing a car-share system (developed using online course-booking software) and running a clothes-swap event to raise money for a local charity.
Martin Wiles, Head of Sustainability, said: ‘Green Impact grows from strength to strength each year. We had a strong showing this year from laboratory-based departments, which I hope we can build on next year. I also want to develop the work that students are doing on sustainability and link that to Green Impact. Well done to everybody who got involved’.
The Green Impact Awards are now entering their fourth year at the University. Departments and students can get involved by visiting the Green Impact website or emailing green-impact-awards@bristol.ac.uk.
