Director, Jessica Bevan, an archaeology graduate, said: ‘The Prince’s Trust is a charity that helps young people to get back into work, education or training by giving assistance in the form of various programmes and awards. Funds raised by events such as ours stay in the area where the money was raised, so all proceeds from the show will go to help disadvantaged young people here in Bristol.
‘The programmes run by The Prince’s Trust offer young people opportunities for personal development, skills training and qualifications, and more than three in four young people on these schemes move into work, training or education.’
Jenni Gill, the show’s producer, said: ‘All the members of the cast are Bristol graduates, from across all six faculties of the University, with lawyers and engineers pitching in with art historians and medievalists. Many are now either continuing with their studies or working for the University, and this seemed like an ideal opportunity to give something back to the city.
‘Everyone has been incredibly busy over the past few weeks, rehearsing, finding sponsorship and putting up posters, and now we are all looking forward to putting on the show this weekend.’
Tickets cost £5 (£4 for concessions) and the performances start at 7.30 pm on both nights. St Alban’s Church Hall is at the corner of Bayswater Avenue and Coldharbour Road.
