Professor Perkins will give his award lecture, ‘Regulation of cancer cell proliferation and survival by NF-kappaB’, at the 13th Tenovus Scotland Symposium at the University of Glasgow on 16 April.
The medal is awarded by the charity Tenovus Scotland, which supports innovative medical research within Scottish universities and teaching hospitals. Through the help of private donations, Trusts, legacies and fundraising events, its principal aim is to assist young research staff, who have yet to establish a track record, with small grants to get their research programmes under way.
Professor Perkins is an editor of the Biochemical Journal, a prestigious online journal that covers all aspects of biochemistry, and cell and molecular biology.
