The reception, organised by the International Office, was held at Goldney Hall. Around 100 people attended, including Pro Vice-Chancellor Avril Waterman-Pearson, the Registrar, Derek Pretty, faculty deans and research directors. Representatives from the British Council also travelled to Bristol for the event.
Professor Thomas greeted the guests and acknowledged the input of international students to university life and research. Goldney’s beautiful Orangery, gardens and famous grotto provided the ideal backdrop to the evening, and there was musical entertainment from a string quartet.
