• £1.75m for research into weathering
  An international research consortium into the process of weathering, which includes experts from the University of Bristol, has been awarded a £1.74 million grant by the Natural Environment Research Council.

  Geometric and energetic heterogeneities constitute a fundamental feature of solid surfaces and are of great interest in the study of adsorption. There is also evidence that these effects play an important role in catalysis, but their importance is not well understood.
