Geochemistry Group
The Geochemistry group uses fundamental chemical techniques to understand natural processes on a range of temporal and spatial scales, from single atoms on mineral surfaces and the environmental geochemistry of the modern Earth to the large-scale chemical structure of planets and the birth of the Solar System.
School of Earth Sciences
Problems being investigated include: the nature of the deep interior and evolution of planets; how volcanoes erupt; the microbiology of deep oceanic sediments; the preservation of fossils; the evolution of dinosaurs; the geological effects of earthquakes; the chemistry of the environment and pollution.
Nanophysics and Soft Matter Group
Nanophysics and Soft Matter is a large, dynamic research group, with over 45 academic staff, researchers and students. We have a diverse range of research interests, covering techniques from neutron diffraction to optical tweezers, and studying systems from novel glasses to living cells.
Surface Physics Group
Specialises in surface physics at the solid-liquid interface, with a particular interest in electrodeposition, the formation of a metal film on an electrode surface by means of an electrochemical reaction.
School of Physics
Physics is at the very heart of scientific discovery - from the nature of matter to the origin of the Universe. It is also a fundamental driver in the world economy - many of tomorrow's technologies will emerge from today's physics.
Interface Analysis Centre
Cutting-edge materials research is driven by a thirst for discovery and a pressing need to develop and better understand the materials we use to solve problems in everyday life.
Faculty of Science
The Faculty of Science is one of the leading centres for scientific research and education in the UK.
International Staff Support
These pages contain information, advice and support for international staff working at the University of Bristol.
International Students' Advisory Service
The International Students' Advisory Service exists to help all international students get the most out of their time at Bristol and has a general welfare role. Advice is given to students at all stages of their university career, from the time an offer of a place at the University is accepted to the time of their departure from the University.

EURAXESS - Researchers in Motion - Home page (opens in new window; please note that this is an external website and the University of Bristol is not responsible for its content)
A one-stop shop for researchers seeking to advance their careers and personal development by moving to other countries. In addition to the information on training and jobs, this electronic gateway is the entry point to a wealth of practical information on living, working and relaxing in the European countries involved.
Marie Curie Actions - Home page (opens in new window; please note that this is an external website and the University of Bristol is not responsible for its content)
Provides an overview of the training, mobility and career development opportunities under Marie Curie Actions. These are open to researchers of all ages and levels of experience regardless of nationality, and are one of the most visible means of developing and enhancing human resources in the European Research Area.
