Accommodation

Principal’s House at 1 University Walk, is a bespoke building for academic visitors and a haven right in the heart of the university’s central precinct. It provides self-catering accommodation with generous living areas, as well as communal spaces.

The building was extensively refurbished in 2017/18 and you can view some images from our re-launch event on our Flickr page.

Principal's House exhibits a curated collection of images, artworks and signage that relate to the University and the city of Bristol. Information on this collection can be found in Principals House Art Guide (PDF, 849kB)

Due to the age of the building it is not accessible, however, the IRD team will support visitors on our schemes to stay in suitable alternative accommodation.

Visitors will also be able to use the Verdon-Smith International Seminar Room in Royal Fort House, Royal Fort Gardens, for seminars. This elegant room in an eighteenth-century Grade 1 listed building boasts modern AV facilities including a smartboard, and can host up to 20 delegates.
