Tate Galleries grant award - Black British Art since the 1980s

10 January 2017

Dr Dorothy Price (PI) in conjunction with Helen Legg (Director, Spike Island), was successful in her recent application to establish a Tate sponsored network grant to promote the curatorial study of Black British Art since the 1980's.  The project will bring the artist Lubaina Himid together with a team of curators from Spike Island, Museum of Modern Art and Oxford and Nottingham Contemporary to consider the outcomes of their 3-part multi-regional exhibitions of Himid's work during Spring 2017.  A particular focus of the project activities will be evaluating the galleries' engagements with non-traditional audiences.
