Officials for ceremonial occasions

Ceremonial Officers, or Bedells, are members of University staff whose role is to organise and lead the ceremonial aspects of graduation ceremonies.

Bedells are University staff, ranging from junior staff to professors, hall wardens, bursars, librarians and other support staff. The Public and Ceremonial Office encourages applications for Bedell's throughout the year. Further information on the the role of a Bedell (PDF, 132kB) is available. Please note that a Bedell is entitled to two paid annual leave days per year for their service.
