The University of Bristol and The Alan Turing Institute

The Alan Turing Institute (the Turing) is the national institute for data science and AI. The University of Bristol is a member of the Turing University Network (TUN). This is a network of UK universities who place a shared importance on data science and AI research.

The Turing Liaison team are based in the Jean Golding Institute (JGI) for Interdisciplinary Data Science. Their aim is to nurture the University of Bristol’s (UoB) cross-campus Data Science and AI community and facilitate the relationships with the Turing. They represent UoB to the Turing University Network and enhance the Turing-UoB partnership.

They do this by:

  • Developing internal and external communities of practise around Data Science and AI.
  • Organising a diverse range of events to help knowledge sharing, networking and collaboration.
  • Supporting students and staff who want to be more involved with Turing activity.
  • Disseminating information, opportunities and events to relevant networks.

Why engage with the Turing?

  • Expand your network - connect with other data science and AI academics and research.
  • Increase your knowledge of data science and AI through a range of different activities.
  • Access support for your research.
  • Discover new collaborations.
