Internships and placement units

Get real work experience with one of our external partners, either through an internship or through an optional placement unit on your course.

Q-Step Internships

Develop your quantitative analysis skills and gain experience in using data in the workplace - and get paid for it too.

We choose organisations that are relevant to your degree and work with them to develop specialist internships. We then advertise them to you and you apply via our team.

These internships are available to students in the following Schools:

  • Policy Studies
  • Sociology, Politics and International Studies
  • Education
  • Geographical Sciences

They form an assesed (20 credits) part of your programme. This optional unit also provides you with preparation for and opportunity for reflection on your placement.
