|Title||Everyday racism: the challenges of diversity|
|Type of event||Panel Discussion|
|Venue||Easton Community Centre, Kilburn Street, Bristol, BS5 6AW|
The event will bring together representatives of different minority and migrant groups in Bristol for a frank discussion about racism in local community relations. We will explore how these groups have been victims of racism, but also how they sometimes use racism against others.
This event promises open and frank discussion about the ongoing problem of racism in local community relations. We will ask our roundtable participants and audience members to consider not only their experiences as victims of racism, but also the ways in which they too express intolerant or racist attitudes toward others. The event is designed to provide a forum for meaningful dialogue on these difficult and sensitive topics. Roundtable participants and audience members alike will be challenged to critically reflect on these problems in an effort to improve relations across different minority and migrant groups.
Refreshments will be provided upon arrival and the event will be followed by a reception.
