An academic transcript is an official document that shows:
Transcripts are provided in sealed envelopes with the University stamp to prove that the document is authentic; we are unfortunately unable to provide electronic versions. Each copy has an accompanying sheet explaining the grading system.
Current undergraduate and postgraduate students are entitled to unlimited free interim transcripts (charging policy revised January 2012).
Every graduating student (postgraduate and undergraduate) will automatically be sent one free copy of the final transcript to their home address within two months of graduation (Please note: this service started in 2009/10 for postgraduate students graduating in that year, and from 2007/08 for undergraduate students). Thereafter charges will be applied as follows:
We regret that academic transcripts cannot be issued until payment, if appropriate, has been received.

Normally transcripts are prepared within 10 working days from the receipt of the application, except during busy periods following graduation (which can take between 4 and 6 weeks) and the autumn term. It is therefore a good idea to order your transcripts as early as possible to ensure they are ready in time for any deadlines. We will endeavour to respond to your requests as soon as we can.
To apply for an academic transcript, please apply using the online request form.
IMPORTANT - Final Year Undergraduates: Please indicate in the special instructions if you are requesting your transcripts in advance for after graduation.
Alternatively you can visit the Faculty Office, 1st Floor, Senate House to complete an application in person, or send an email to: transcripts-fssl@bris.ac.uk
Please note it is not possible to apply for a transcript by telephone.
If you have any queries about the information on this page please contact +44 (0)117 33 17262 or email transcripts-fssl@bris.ac.uk.
Due to University regulation, we do not keep full student files for any longer than eight years. This therefore means that we may be unable to produce a full academic transcript for you. However we should be able to produce a letter for you stating your overall award and date of award. If you would like to enquire about the possibility of obtaining a transcript or a letter authenticating your study period please e-mail transcripts-fssl@bris.ac.uk.
