Faculty Technical & Resource Managers Group
Your Career and Development
One very important aspect of the FTRMG is in looking at identifying and addressing the training and help required by support staff. The FTRMG has already put in place means by which the careers of the Faculty's support staff can be fostered and developed. This includes the 'Career Framework' scheme as well as increasing the profile of schemes such as 'one-to-ones', career development and training from the Career Management and Development Service (which came out of the Positive Working Environment action plan), and Performance and Development Coaching from the Staff Counselling Service.
How the FTRMG can support your development:
- training and support in your current career
- the Career Framework scheme
- with the new Technical Trainee Scheme
- 'Self Help' links (time management; training handbooks, work related training documents and guidance)
- "on the job" training and career development in existing career
- careers case studies - people who have moved up in their job and how this was achieved
- NVQ schemes open to support staff
- staff development training courses available from the University
- lifelong Learning
- information and details of training for new members of staff
- redeployment - managed redeployment scheme within Faculty
