Dr Russ Jago: Reader in Exercise, Nutrition & Health Sciences & NIHR Career Development Fellow.

Image of Russ JagoRuss’s research focuses on understanding the factors that influence children and adolescents physical activity, screen-viewing and dietary behaviours and strategies to change these behaviours to prevent obesity and associated illnesses such as type 2 diabetes. Russ’s fellowship focuses on how parental and family factors influence children’s behaviours and developing new approaches to working with families to help children be as active as possible. Russ is also very interested in pragmatic interventions to increase children’s physical activity. Russ collaborates extensively will colleagues within Bristol (ENHS, Social Medicine, Primary Care), colleagues across Europe and has well established relationships with a number of North American collaborators.
