Parents and carers are a very important part of our study.  You provide consent for your child to take part, and support your child’s use of the equipment.  We want to know about you too and will be asking you to complete a questionnaire.

Your questionnaire will tell us whether parents/carers and children perceive their local environment in the same way.  We intend to investigate how these perceptions relate to actual characteristics of the area in which you live (such as heavy traffic and access to open spaces), as well as how these factors relate to children’s physical activity and eating behaviour.

Your continued consent is crucial for your child to take part in the study.  We will send you a consent letter when your child is first invited to take part in year 6.  They will not be allowed to take part unless we have one signed by you. And when we follow them up in year 7, we will send you an opt-out letter.  Only send this back to us if you do not want your child to take part again.
