Advanced Matlab Training for AWI Project Team
12 October 2017
All Researchers and PhD students from the Agile Wing Integration Project (AWI) undertook 6 days of intensive further training on Matlab provided by Mathworks. AWI is a £2.4 million Airbus-led project primarily investigating the design of highly flexible winged aircraft.
The two 3-day tranches of the course were run on the 12th, 13th, 14th September and 10th, 11th, 12th November and covered the following four broad subject areas:
- MATLAB Programming Techniques
- Object Oriented Programming with MATLAB
- Model-view-controller (MVC) software architectures
- Accelerating and Parallelizing MATLAB
The first three day session was held in the PC labs in Queen’s Building, University of Bristol and the second three day course was held at Engineers’ House, Clifton.
Andrew Eaton, AWI PhD student:
“I really enjoyed the Mathworks training course. The instructors were very knowledgable, and the course content was pitched at the perfect level for my Matlab skills. I look forward to improving my existing code by implementing the taught techniques, and I feel confident that I can get the most out of Matlab when starting from scratch in future projects.”
