The European Conference on Optical Communications is the largest conference on optical communication in Europe, and one of the most prestigious and long-standing events in this field worldwide. This year, Miss Yanni Ou, PhD Student at the High Performance Networks Group (HPN), Faculty of Engineering, has been nominated as a finalist for the Best Student Paper Prize.
In this 41st edition, ECOC 2015 will be held on September 27th – October 1st 2015 in Valencia, Spain where Miss Ou, as the leading author, will present the paper ‘Demonstration of Optical Virtualize-able Transceiver using Extended OpenFlow Control’ (Authors: Yanni Ou, Shuangyi Yan, Binli Guo, Shuping Peng, Reza Najebati, George Zervas, and Dimitra Simeonidou).
The High Performance Networks Group (HPN) specialises in the application of advanced hardware and software technologies. Their work addresses the demands of the future optical networks and high-performance network-based services in both fundamental acadmiec researches and industrial applications. The group, which is led by Professor Dimitra Simeonidou is equipped with world-class laboratories, including state of the art optical transmission testbeds, and software-defined network experimental platform.
