Bristol and Southampton students kickstart exciting robotics challenge

Student Robotics in action
The Student Robotics team from the University of Bristol, along with students from the University of Southampton and Grenoble INP, and members of the Munich Hackerspace, are set to embark on an exciting robotics competition for Sixth Formers that will run from November 2012 to April 2013.

During the course of the competition the Sixth Formers will design, prototype, build and program an entirely autonomous robot. This is no simple task: learning entirely new skills along the way, the Sixth Formers will eventually see their robots compete against one another to determine who has built the best robot.

The competition's KickStart event takes place on 3rd November, which will explain the competition and the rules, provide some basic programming and construction skills and will culminate in a mini competition.

At the event the Student Robotics team will be on hand to help encourage the competitors and provide their knowledge from past years of running the competition.
