Seminar: "Magnetic particles under flow - hydrodynamic trapping and flow generation"

25 January 2017, 2.00 PM - 25 January 2017, 3.00 PM

VCR Room, 2.63, Queen's Building

The Fluid & Aerodynamics Research Group invite guest speaker Daiki Matsunaga from the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics in Oxford to give a seminar.

Title: "Magnetic particles under flow - hydrodynamic trapping and flow generation"

Abstract: In recent years, magnetic particles have been used in biomedical and microfluidic applications. From interplays of magnetic and hydrodynamic forces, the particles show interesting movements. In this talk, we firstly report the position control technique of ellipsoidal magnet using hydrodynamic “trapping”.

All welcome, no booking required.
