The Faculty of Engineering Hackathon 2016
Merchant Venturers Building
The Faculty of Engineering Hackathon sponsored by ARM will take place 30th of January 2016! (1 week after exams). This is a great opportunity to develop an idea with teams of up to 5 from across the faculty. Create something you can showcase to future employers and add to your CV. The brief is simple “Build something cool in 24 hours.”
The event is free to enter and there will be a choice of development boards to work on, these include mBeds, Raspberry Pi 2s and a range of Samsung devices.
There will be free pizza, breakfast and Red Bull to fuel you during the event.
Amazing prizes are up for grabs this year, with £500 for the winning team and £250 for the runners up, and of course each winner will have their names engraved on the coveted Hackathon Trophy displayed in the MVB Atrium.
This year we have four categories:
- Free-for-all (anything)
- Internet of things (IoT)
- General purpose GPU (GPGPU)
- Embedded graphics In previous years’ teams have created: laser harps, robotic arm, smart plant pot, weather blimp.
